Job Summary
The Associate Project Manager supports the coordination and operational implementation of translational research and registry projects under the direction of the Project Manager. This role assists with regulatory submissions, documentation, communications, logistics, and process tracking to ensure smooth project operations and event coordination. The Associate Project Manager supports the successful coordination and implementation of translational research and registry projects. This position works closely with investigators, program leadership, internal teams, and external collaborators to ensure that all project activities are executed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
The role involves supporting project planning and timelines, coordinating IRB submissions and updates, and assisting with documentation, reporting, and resource allocation. The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating communication across teams, tracking project deliverables, and ensuring integration across various stakeholders. Responsibilities also include assisting with logistics for events and meetings, helping maintain certification records and compliance documentation, and participating in post-project reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
This individual will be expected to monitor budgets, track work hours, maintain accurate documentation (e.g., project logs, meeting notes, regulatory records), and help ensure the quality of deliverables prior to milestone progression. The role also requires familiarity with data collection tools such as REDCap, lots of interaction with research participants and participant-facing activities, and contribution to metrics and reporting systems.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills—including comfort engaging with patients and research participants—and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. They should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, comfortable working with project management and tracking systems (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio), and adaptable to new platforms and tools.
Experience with IRB processes, research compliance, and clinical or translational research coordination is preferred.
A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related field is required.
The ability to think critically, troubleshoot issues, and contribute proactively to the success of the program is essential.
Occasional travel is required for conferences, outreach events, or onsite coordination activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of two years' progressively responsible work experience, preferrably in stewardship projects or programs. Must have project management experience across full project lifecycle.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired. Depending on area, may require valid driver's license.
Those working in the clinical research setting are required to obtain the following:
Certification through Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) required within two years of employment into position.
If an RN, must also be licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.
